CHRISTIAN TESTIMONY
I became a Christian during my sophomore year in college and graduated with a bachelor of Architectural Science degree two years later. It was during the Christmas Season of 2001 when my friend invited me to an outreach camp organized by her church (It later became my home church). During a Bible study in the camp, I was being asked about my religious background. I responded honestly about my catholic family, and my superficial knowledge about Christ and Christmas (holiday). Upon hearing my brief sharing, my pastor, who was leading the study, illustrated my situation as a sick person holding a cup of medicine in hand without taking it. Through observing Christianity from the outside, I know that there is a God and a Savior, but without faith, I had no relationship with God and would never know what Christianity is. At the end of the camp, I decided to step out in faith, and opened my heart for Christ to come into my life.
I was baptized a year later at my home church. Because of my professional skills in architecture, I was privileged to participate in different mission trips to Egypt, Ethiopia, Uganda, Mexico and Pakistan, with the desire to serve His Kingdom and people; although, I often came back with the feeling of being blessed and being served.

“Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.” Philippians 4:8 (NASB)

The word “dwell” caught my attention when I read this passage.  The Greek term “involves the use of the mind and the reason”, which also includes spending time to ponder. As humans who are created in the image of God, we are given the capability to think, to love and to know God. Unfortunately, rather than using our God-given essence to know God and serve Him, we steered towards an opposite direction by indulging our selfish deeds. The society today rejects the existence of a Creator by large, let alone God of the Bible. We often see the belief in God as blind faith, and what is recorded in the Bible as untrue and contradictory to Science. Pray that Truth would be proclaimed and practiced, both in church and in our pluralistic society.
